My most recent CD release, in collaboration with Dr Michael Tsalka, appeared on Naxos in August. Dittersdorf's 'Ovid' sonatas, transcribed from the original Ovid symphonies by the composer himself, are fantastic pieces, and, recorded on Paul Downie's copy of Walter c.1801, the tonal spectrum and range of effects is nothing short of extraordinary.
I recorded Bach's gamba sonatas, with Australian colleague Laura Vaughan, earlier this year. We are expecting this to be released, on the paladino label, before Christmas. The recording includes two wonderful but rarely heard transcriptions of J.S. Bach violin sonatas. recorded on the University of Auckland's Downie copy of Zell 1728 - we are currently in the editing phase, and it's sounding good !
Final bit of news for now: I'm performing in the Netherlands in October - invited to participate in the Geelvinck fortepiano festival, I'll be performing transcriptions of all sorts, including a European premiere of Wanhal's extraordinary Trauergesang, with New Zealand based soprano Fiona Tibbles.
